Surrender and Let go

Updated: Jan 30, 2023

In battle, the camp that surrenders loses. If you are battling an opponent, surrender implies loss and weakness. But the surrender I want to speak of today does not involve an adversary, but God. You can’t lose when you’re aligned and confident in God.

When I say surrender, I mean divine alignment. Divine alignment Is like a GPS system for life. It’s the navigation system in our soul that can be activated and used through prayer to God, who controls the universe.

The principle of alignment reminds you that God is the source of everything. God is always present. Because of this, we always have the power to bring ourselves into harmony with who we really are.

If you’re not growing, your life is out of alignment.

We are typically quick to blame external forces—circumstances, people, government, and, too often, the enemy—for what is going wrong in our lives.

Inner work to align requires vulnerability. It also requires us to let go of what we think we know about ourselves and our circumstances by trusting in the all-knowing God in all things.

Why is it sometimes difficult to surrender?

Having some level of control gives us a sense of security and a willingness to embrace the process because we know – sometimes – what to expect. The challenge arises when we must surrender control without knowing whether things will turn out in our favour.

Have you ever been in a situation where you know you need to surrender to the divine plan and let go, but you still want to resist? I have experienced many such situations.

When we surrender, we align ourselves with the creative power of God within us. We gain the power to create the life we desire. When we surrender, we trust that the universe conspires every day to make everything work in our favour. Surrendering and letting go work in partnership. Everything is possible. Nothing is impossible.

We must intentionally surrender and let go.

However, surrendering is more easily said than done. That’s why we must be Intentional about it. You must get out of your own way.

You can’t stand on the path of a rapidly moving train. If it hits you, you’ll die. The wisdom in alignment guides us through each moment. It lets us know when to cross to the other side of the tracks or when to wait while the train passes. It lets us know when we’re on the wrong path.

Nature submits daily to the universal law governing it. It trusts in God’s abundance every day. Alignment and trust working in harmony create continuous growth. Growth doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll always sail through life. But when we surrender to God, we can know that whatever we go through, everything will work out for the best.

Everything you need is inside of you.

When you think deeply about the process, you can see that nature is totally aligned with God’s divine plan. You are a part of nature. You have a process for total fulfilment. So surrender. Let go and welcome God into your life!
